Rewrites

With the initial first draft of the script complete, I've decided to take some time off from the script before diving into the editing process. It's a breath of fresh air to have the initial draft finished, but it's the rewrites that will make the script better.

Before sending "The Devil's Forest" out to my first round of readers for notes and suggestions, I have to make my own changes beforehand.

  1. Does taking an extended period of time away from writing or editing a script give you a different or fresh perspective? I was just curious if this helps or hurts the process of writing a script.

  2. I hate forcing my writing or editing. After I get the first draft out, I do some small edits that I want to change right away so I don't forget. But after that, I have to get away from it. Fresh eyes are so important. After every rewrite, it seems like your eyes get less fresh with each read.
